HENRY BECK – FIELD-TEST- AND DEVELOPMENT BIKER FOR BIUS1
Henry Beck – two times Sparda-Münster City-Triathlon champion and “Bundesliga” (national league) triathlete – is using BIUS1 since november 2013 and confirms the positive effect of the different moving pattern on the knee joints when pedaling and biking. His conclusion after the first testing phase from november 1st 2013 through february 28th 2014: „The ride makes my knee joints feel less strained. After getting used to the new moving pattern biking felt stable and I saw an increase in my power transfer while pedaling. From the biomechanic point of view the pedal seems absolutely logical and useful – I feel like having more power at my disposal – caused by the more natural moving sequence.“
IMPROVING STAMINA AND NATURAL MOVING PATTERNS WHILE BIKING
Now, Beck continues, it’s about making the subjective impressions regarding the increased stamina into objective ones. It’s already easier to adapt to new conditions when switching from biking to running which is especially important for triathletes:
Caused by the more natural moving patterns when biking with the BIUS1 pedal the knee joints feel better when switching to running and the running movements right after getting off the bike don’t feel as strange as with an old two-dimensional pedal. Henry Beck is convinced and sticks to it: „I’d like to support the developers by further developing the product – particularly with regard to mountain biking and click pedals. For rehab sports the pedals already seems well-engineered.“ We’re happy about this and are looking forward to a collaboration to adjust and develop our pedal as practical and in line with demand as possible for our customers – even for the professional user.
